Man, 24, Charged With Spraying Graffiti In Westchester

A 24-year-old man is in police custody for multiple alleged incidents of graffiti in Northern Westchester.

Between New Years Day and Thursday, July 25, officers from the Yorktown Police Department responded to five separate graffiti complaints that were located on the sound barrier of Overlook Avenue, Route 6 and Sunnyside, a fence at Barger Street, a light pole at Old Yorktown Road and an electrical box on Barger Street.

According to police, the investigation into those incidents led to the arrest of Buchanan resident Daniel Vines-Mevec, who was arrested this week and charged with five counts of making graffiti, all misdemeanors.

Following his processing, Vines-Mevec was released eon an appearance ticket and is scheduled to show up in Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 5 to respond to the charges.
